waffle iron grilled cheese

When your kids come home from school, what is the first thing you hear? “Hi Mom, how was your day?”  Well in my case, that is not how it is all. Instead, it’s “I’m thirsty!” “I’m hungry!”  It keeps on going until I finally feed my kid. I made a cute little snack box for Lilly when she gets home from school, but those sugary filled snacks were not cutting it.

Finally I decided to put two of Lilly’s favorite things together. Bread and Cheese! Who doesn’t love a good homemade grilled cheese sandwich?? I thought I’d make it look real fancy and use the waffle iron to press both sides together. It worked like a champ. The process was SOOOOO much quicker than making the sandwich on the stove.

The sandwich comes out looking  fancy and kids think it neat that their sandwich looks like a waffle. Win! Win!!

So…..the next time your kid is whining about being so hungry because they didn’t eat their lunch like they were supposed to (maybe it’s just my kid?), this sandwich will do the trick.

It’s so easy!
